Overview

This chapter explores organization culture. First, it investigates the nature and history of organization culture. Next, it describes the process for creating the culture of an organization. Then it discusses two basic approaches to organization culture: the Ouchi framework and the Peters and Waterman approach. Next, it presents three emerging issues in the area of organization culture. Finally, the chapter provides suggestions for managing organization culture to enhance the organization’s effectiveness.
