THE ELEVATOR SPEECH![]() |
|
An elevator speech can be a very useful exercise in that a new firm must carefully construct a statement the outlines the merits of a business opportunity. Why call it an elevator speech? Imagine you stepped into an elevator on the 30th floor of a building. By some stroke of divine providence a potential investor is in the same elevator. You have only the time it takes to get to the ground floor to try to get the investor interested in your business opportunity. Another time this may come in handy is during a scheduled break at a meeting or convention. Many businesses have been launched in just this manner. Most elevator speeches are 1 to 2 minutes long. Below is an outline for your elevator speech: 20 Seconds - Describe the opportunity or problem that needs to be solved You will be given time to ask questions and prepare an elevator speech during class #8 and present your speech during class #9
