This website is designed to help developmental reading students develop critical thinking skills and identify certain elements of reading passages such as topic, supporting detail, tone, organizational patterns and context clues in pursuit of the main idea. Students choose from a cast of characters (Stoical Steve, Prognostic Kate and Archetype Mike) who will present different arguments on the same topic, sex on television. They are then presented with a series of multiple choice questions regarding the elements. Finally, students are asked to analyze the efficacy of each argument.
