Fossil cypress tree trunk, uncovered in Cretaceous age (~100 million years ago) sediments of the Potomac Group, just north of the Prince William Forest Park boundary. Doubtless, similar fossils are present within Potomac Group sediments capping the hills within the park. Log is about six feet long.
