Geology 310 in the William and Mary Alumni Magazine

I went to the College of William and Mary for my undergraduate geology degree. One of the cherished rights of passage in that department was the "Geology 310" trip -- Regional Field Geology, often of the Colorado Plateau, but in recent years, the faculty have been running field courses to other locations. The program was written up in this fall's issue of the William and Mary Alumni Magazine. Check it out!

Nice article! Santa Barbara City College did a similar summer program when I was there in the 1980's, so I adopted the same model at Modesto, taking trips to the Colorado Plateau. Like W&M, I started playing with the locations, so some of my students have been able to explore Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Hawaii, and like your program this year, the Pacific Northwest/Rocky Mountains. The cover picture is my favorite spot on the planet, Cedar Mesa in Utah.

No Drinking? Srsly? I didn't know most geologists were capable. Also, it was fun to recognize Tuff Cookie, who's hosting this month's Accretionary Wedge!
