NOVA Annandale | Geology | Bentley | Auditing geology courses

Our field courses are of strong interest to many members of the community, including those who want to take the course for fun & personal enrichment, not for academic credit. These students audit the course, and are exempted from submitting any papers for grading, or taking any exams.

If you want to audit a course, instructions are below. The following information is taken from NOVA's Course Catalog:

Auditing a Course
You may audit a course and attend without taking examinations. The regular tuition rate is charged. Audited courses carry no credit and do not count as a part of your course load, which will affect your status if you receive financial aid, veterans benefits or hold an F-1 visa. To audit a class, you must register for it normally, and then change from credit to audit by the official last day for students to withdraw from a class without penalty. Form 125-12, Change from Credit to Audit, must be completed, signed by the the instructor and the division dean, and submitted to the Student Services Center on or before the withdrawal deadline. You may also audit Extended Learning Institute courses.

If you desire to change your status in a course from audit to credit, you must do so before the “last day for tuition refund” date for the session.

Still not clear on it? You may contact the Student Services Center for instructions on auditing a course.
