The World Monuments Watch is a global program launched
in 1995, calling attention to endangered cultural heritage sites around
the world. They direct financial support to the preservation of these
sites. Leading experts select a list of the 100 most endangered sites
submitted to World Monuments Fund (WMF) every two years by governments
and preservationists. For a list of endangered cultural heritage sites,
visit the WMF
web site.
One such endangered cultural heritage site is the Chartres Cathedral
in France. Work is currently being done to restore this beautiful old
cathedral. For more information visit the Chartres
Cathedral Restoration web site.
