How Students Enroll

What do students need to register in CourseCompass?

With the following information in hand, students register at the CourseCompass student site, http://students.pearsoned.com:

·         Student Access Code* — This is an individual, course-specific, 6-word code that typically comes packaged in a Student Access Kit (available from your campus bookstore, based on the ISBNs you provided. For more information, see Ordering through the Bookstore). The kit consists of a card that has a pull-back strip, which reveals the code. This code can be redeemed only once-at the moment of registration by an individual student.

Note: The best buy for students is to purchase a new textbook bundled with a Student Access Kit. If students buy a used book, they will still need to purchase a standalone Student Access Kit from your campus bookstore.

* An exception to this rule is available as a convenience for those accustomed to purchasing products and services online. Instead of cashing in a student access code, students can alternatively purchase access to your CourseCompass course during the online registration process accessible via http://students.pearsoned.com. To make this type of purchase, students will need a credit card.

  • Course ID — On the first day of class, you must provide students with the Course ID that is unique to your online CourseCompass course. When your students register online, they need to enter this Course ID so CourseCompass can place them in the correct online course.

Where can I find the Course ID for my CourseCompass course?

To view your Course ID, log in to CourseCompass, click the Courses tab (at the top of the page), and locate the ID beneath the course name.

For Principles of Macroeconomics (ECO201) ID is:  khana31564

For Principles of Microeconomics (ECO202) ID is:  khana53620

  • Valid email address — This is essential for students to receive emails from you and classmates regarding the CourseCompass course. A student's email address is also used to confirm a student's successful enrollment, providing a copy of their Login Name, Password, and the web site for student login.
