If it is to be ...it is up to me

"...to become a true "learner", a real student must connect with the subject even if he/she doesn't like the teacher or even the subject. There is no time in life where the excuse: "I didn't do well because the subject is boring and/or the teacher is bad" is acceptable. In colleges and universities, there are boring subjects and "bad" teachers, but learning still takes place. Academic and scholarly gains are still made. Breakthroughs are made everyday in uninteresting laboratories by less than exciting research scientists. In the working world, bosses may be incompetent and work may be dull, but worker production is still required. The "it's boring/bad teacher" is a child's excuse. When you find yourself using it, that is nature's way of telling you to look within yourself. ...  If high interest subjects matter and dynamic teachers were necessary for your success as a civilization, we would have never left the caves. Study. ... Prepare for tests. Do your homework. Attend class. Listen. Take notes and read over them. Find your own special way to be engaged by your school work. Stop making excuses and get to work! This fact is best realized by the individual from within. External pressure usually does not work. If experience has taught me anything, it is this: the sooner one internalizes from within this lesson and applies it in his/her life, the better. The sooner one connects this understanding with action, the better. Success in life regardless of your definition is closely tied to this realization. Don't wait another minute to begin connecting!"
