Create a Numbered List Change the Counter Type

The easiest way to order information on a web page is to create a list.

Many web pages contain lists of links organized according to categories.

An ordered list uses a numbering system to indicate each list item.

Create a Numbered List

To quickly insert an ordered list in a document with Mozilla Composer, place your cursor at the point where you want your list to start. Then click on the Apply or remove numbered list Ordered List button button on the Composition Toolbar.

Begin to type your list. After each item, hit the Enter key.

By default the Numbered List will use Arabic numerals.

To stop generating the list, you can click on the button again or you can hit the Enter key twice to move your cursor back to your left margin.

You can also create your list, highlight it, then click on the Apply or remove numbered list button.

Change the Counter Type

To change the counter type used in an ordered list:

  • Place your cursor anywhere in the list.
  • Go to Format, Lists, List Properties on the main menu bar.
Format Numbered List

The List Properties dialog box will appear.

Click on the Number Style dropdown list and choose the type of counter you want to use with your list.

Click on OK when you are finished.
