| To keep your web site organized and ensure that your images display properly, put all of your images in the images folder in the web site folder before you start to put images on your web pages. | |
To use Mozilla Composer to insert an image
into your file, click on the Or you can click on Insert, Image from the Main Menu. |

| The Image Properties dialog box will appear. Choose the Location tab. | |

| Click on Choose File and browse to the image you wish to insert. Click on Open to choose the file. The file name will appear in the Image Location text box. | |
| The image file you choose should be located in the images folder of the web site folder. If it is, the URL is relative to page location box will automatically be checked. | |
| Note that a preview of the image will appear in the lower left corner of the dialog box along with the actual dimensions of the image. | |
| Add Alternate Text | |
| Some visitors to your web site might have turned off the
graphics display in their browsers to speed download time.
Other visitors might be visually impaired. To accommodate these visitors and to give others a sense of what is about to appear on a page, always add alternate text to your images. The alternate text will appear whenever the site visitor runs the cursor over the image. |

| Click on the Alternate Text radio button. Then put a brief description of the image in the Alternate Text text box. You can use capitalization and spacing in this description. | |
You can manipulate the size of the image. To adjust the image, click on the Dimensions tab on the Image Properties dialog box. |

Click on the Custom Size radio button; to maintain the proportions of the image, make sure the Constrain box is checked. Then type in value in pixels in the Width text box. The Height box will automatically adjust in proportion. Click on OK when you are finished. |

| Adjust the Image Position | |
You will want to exert some control over the position of your image as it relates to the other elements on your page. You will want to specify how much white space surrounds the image and also where the image is positioned relative to the text around it. To make these adjustments, click on the Appearance tab on the Image Properties dialog box. |

You can specify the spacing at the sides of the image by indicating a space in pixels in the Left and Right text box. You can specify the spacing above and below the image by indicating a space in pixels in the Top and Bottom text box. Put a zero (0) in the Solid Border text box. Use the Align Text dropdown menu to specify where to place your image relative to the text around it. |
