| To launch Composer from your desktop you must first open Mozilla by going to Start, Programs, Mozilla. | |
| You can also click on the Mozilla Communicator shortcut icon on your desktop. Navigator will open. | |
Once the Navigator screen appears, click on the Composer symbol on the far right of the status bar on the bottom of your screen. Alternately you can go to Window, Composer, on the Main Menu. |

| You will automatically be taken to a new blank page in Normal view. | |

In Normal view, Composer is a WYSIWYG (pronounced wizzy-wig) program; the acronym stands for What You See Is What You Get. At its most basic level, Composer works just like word processing software. You type your text and format it using the dropdown menus or the buttons on the toolbars. |
