Image Composer
Use the Button Wizard
| Button Wizard | You can make many different kinds of buttons in Image Composer with the Button Wizard. To open the Button Wizard, choose Insert, Button from the main menu. The Button Wizard dialog box will appear. |

| The first screen (shown above) asks you to choose a button style. Scroll
through the choices and view each style in the sample box to the right. After you have chosen a style, click Next. The following screen will ask you how many buttons you want to create. Enter the number in the text box. Click on Next. |

| The third screen asks for the text you wish to place on your first button. If you click on the Image box, you can insert an image from your files. | ||

| By default the first button is named Home, but you can
change it if you wish. Click on Next and the Button Wizard will ask you
to name your next button. Continue to label your buttons in the same manner until alll of
your buttons have been labeled. Click on Next again. On the following screen you will be asked to choose the size of your buttons. |

| If you choose Exact fit for each button, the Button
Wizard will size each button to fit its label. If you choose Same Size for all buttons, the Button Wizard will make all of your buttons large enough to accommodate your longest label. Or you can choose to size each button to fit its label. Click on Size Preview to see what your buttons will look like. Click on Next. |
HINT: Most web pages display buttons of the same size. | |
| The Button Wizard will tell you how to edit your buttons. Click on Finish. Your buttons will appear in the upper right hand corner of the screen. | ||
| Edit Your Buttons | To change the look of your button, double click on a button
to bring up the Button Editor. From the Style tab you can change the shape of your button. All the styles from the Button Wizard are available here. |
HINT: Before you start to
edit a button, make copies of the button. To copy a sprite, click on the sprite to select it. Then press Control +D to make a copy. |

| If you click on the Font button on the upper right of the dialog box, you will bring up the Font dialog box. | ||

| From here you can change the font, style, and size of the label as well as its color and its alignment on the button. Click on OK to return to the Button Editor | ||
| From the Shape tab you can change the shape of your button. | ||

| Use the drop down box to choose a category of shape. Scroll through
the choices and highlight the one you like. You can also adjust the direction from which light will shine on the button by clicking on one of the Light direction buttons on the upper right screen. |

| From the Fill tab you can affect the color and texture of
the button. Choose Color in the dropdown box to change the color of the button. |

| Choose Gradient to create a gradient color for the button. | ||

| You can choose a pre-defined gradient from the dropdown box. You can also make your own gradient by clicking on each small corner square of the Fill Attributes box and choosing your own color. If you make a custom gradient, save it for future use.

| Choose Texture to change the texture of your button. | ||

| You can scroll through and choose one of the textures in the Fill
attributes screen. You can also click on the Other Texture button and choose a texture from your files. |

| Use the Size tab to adjust the size of your button and also to see a preview of the button as you have changed it. | ||
| When you have finished editing your button, click on OK. Your new button will appear on your composition space. | ||
