| Notepad is a simple
text editor that comes bundled with Windows 95/98/NT.
Use Notepad to type HTML code. |

| Access Notepad | Access Notepad from
your Windows desktop:
A blank document window will appear. |

| Though HTML is not
case sensitive, you should use lower case letters to type your tags.
Lower case tags are compatible with other mark-up languages such as
XHTML.
Though the browser will ignore paragraph and line breaks unless you create them with HTML tags, use your keyboard's Enter key to separate sections of your page and facilitate editing. HINT: To more easily read what you are typing, activate Notepad's Word Wrap feature by selecting Format, Word Wrap from the main menu bar. |

| Save a Page | When you are ready to save your page, choose File, Save As from the main menu. The Save As dialog box will open. | ||

| Go to the Save in:
dropdown box at the top.
Navigate to the drive and the folder in which you want to store your web page file. Type in a file name.

| Open a Page | When you want to re-open the
file in Notepad:
