Create Menu Boxes
| A menu box allows a user to tab through a dropdown list to make a selection from a number of choices. | ||
| Example | What is your area code? | |
| To add a menu box to your web page using FrontPage 98, you can choose Insert, Form Field, Drop-Down Menu from the main menu. | ||
![]() |
| You can also use the Drop-Down Menu button on the Forms toolbar. |
| To specify the properties of the
menu box, highlight it. Choose Edit, Form Field Properties from the main menu or right click on the menun box itself. The Drop-Down Menu Properties dialog box will appear. |
![]() |
| In the Name text box, specify a
name that describes the list being provided in the menu box. (In the example above, the
name might be areacode.) Set the Tab order. The tab order is the order in which users of your form will move through the form by clicking on the Tab key. Select the Add button to the right. The Add Choice dialog box appears |
![]() |
| Put the first choice in your drop-down menu in
the Choice text box. (In our example above, the choice would be 703.) FrontPage 98 will automatically use your choice as the value it sends through the form handler. If you wish to specify a different value, (for example a shorter term) check Specify Value and type in your value. Click on OK. |
| Repeat the process until you have completed the
choices in your menu box. Choose Initial State Selected for the value you want to initially appear in the menu box. Note that you can use the Modify, Remove, Move Up, and Move Down buttons to edit. delete, or rearrange your choices from the Drop-Down Menu Properties dialog box. When you have finished specifying choices for the menu box, click on OK. |
