| FrontPage Express is one element of the browser suite known
as Microsoft Internet Explorer, v. 4.x. The latest version of FrontPage Express is 2.0. FrontPage Express is an easy-to-use WYSIWYG web page editor that allows you to create web pages directly without using HTML. |

| You can download Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 from the
CD-Rom available on overnight reserve at the Loudoun Campus Library Circulation Desk. You can also acquire the program directly from Microsoft To install the program, simply double click on it and follow the directions on the installation screens. |

| To launch FrontPage Express from Internet Explorer, first open Internet Explorer, either by going to Start, Programs, Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer, or by double-clicking on a shortcut on your desktop. |

| Once Internet Explorer appears on your monitor, click on the Edit button on the toolbar. FrontPage Express will open. | ||

Once you've launched FrontPage Express, examine the
toolbars. From top to bottom they are:

| Create and Save a Page | FrontPage Express works like any other common word
processing software.

| To save a file in FrontPage Express, click on File, Save As on the main menu bar. | ||

| A Save As dialog box will appear. If you
use this method of saving your file, FrontPage Express will try to save it to a web
folder. Instead, click on the As File button in the lower right corner of the dialog box. The Save As File dialog box will come up. Navigate to the drive and directory where you want to store your file. Name the file and click on Save. |

| To view a file in the browser, open the browser of your
choice. Choose File, Open or Open Page (the choice of
terms depends on your browser) from the main menu. Then choose Browse or Choose
File (choice of terms depends on your browser) to navigate to the drive and
directory where your page is located. Remember that you must save a file before you can display the changes in a browser. Remember that if your file has already been loaded into the browser you may have to click on Reload or Refresh to view your changes. |
