Basics:
FrontPage 2000:
Save and Preview a Page
| Save a Web Page | To save a file in FrontPage, click on File, Save As on the main menu bar. The Save As dialog box will appear. | ||
In
the File name text box assign a filename to your page.
Remember that this filename will become part of the URL for the page;
thus:
Check the Look in text box at the top of the dialog box to be sure that your file is in whatever folder you want it to be in. |
| If
you haven't yet specified a title for the page, the Page Title defaults
to the first few words on the page.
To change the title, click on the Change button to the right of the default title. The Set Page Title dialog box will appear. Type in your title and click on OK. Remember that this title will appear at the top of the browser window and in bookmarks to your page, so make your title clear and descriptive. You can also use normal capitalization and spacing. |
| If
your file contains images, the Save Embedded Files
dialog box will appear.
The Embedded Files to Save text block will contain a list of the image files in the current page. |
| Click
on Change Folder.
Navigate to your images folder to place the image files in that location. Click on OK. When you return to the Save Embedded Files dialog box, click on OK. From this point on, FrontPage 2000 will automatically save your image files to your images folder. |

your page.
However, you should also preview your page in both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. |

| Important: Please note that what you see in Preview view is only an approximation of what you would see in a browser. | |||
| To view your page in a browser, go to File, Preview in Browser on the main menu bar. The Preview in Browser dialog box will appear. | |||
| Choose your browser and your window
size. You may also want to check the Automatically Save
Page box.

in both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator.
Always preview your page in a Window Size of 640 x 480 to determine how your page will look on a standard 13" to 15" monitor. |
| If the Preview
in Browser dialog box does not display both Microsoft Internet
Explorer and Netscape Navigator, or if you want to add a number of versions
of browsers to your browser list, click on the Add
button on the right side of the Preview in Browser box.
The Add Browser dialog box will appear. |
