Create Mailto Links

A hyperlink is a direct connection from the current location of the cursor to another location.

You can create a hyperlink to your email address. This is called a mailto link.

When you create a mailto link, it takes visitors to a New Message box in the mail program of their browsers.

The message is pre-addressed to the email address you designate in the tag.

To create a mailto link:

• Highlight the clickable text.
• Type the following information in the Link text box on the Properties panel
  • mailto:
  • the email address you want to link to

You can also insert the clickable text and the mailto into your web page at the same time. Place your cursor at the point where you want to insert the mailto link. Click on the Email Link button on the Common toolbar. The Email Link dialog box appears.

Type your clickable text in the Text text box. If you had previously entered and highlighted the text, the text will already appear in the Text text box.

Type the email address in the E-Mail text box.

Click on OK.
