Create a Frameset

Simple Frameset |
It is very easy to create frames in Dreamweaver.
First enable your ability to see frames in Design View. Select View, Visual Aids, Frame Borders from the main menu |

| Notice that there is now a beveled border around the edge of your design area. That border indicates the location of the frameset, the page that will hold your frames. | ||
|
There are several different ways to add a frame to a page. You can choose the configuration of your frames from any of these menus. |

|
Choose Insert, Frame from the main menu Select any of the choices to insert a frame into a page |
Choose a frame design from the Frames category
on the Objects Panel Frames Objects Panel Select any of the preset frame configurations.

| When you have made your choices, the frames will appear with beveled edges in Design View. | ||
| To adjust the properties of your frames,
choose Window, Frames from the main menu bar.
The Frames Panel will appear. Also note that the Property Inspector now displays frame properties. |

| Note that when you click on a frame in the Frames Panel, the default name that Dreamweaver assigns to the frame appears in the Frame Name text box in the Property Inspector. | ||
| When you are ready to save your frameset page, choose File, Save Frameset As from the main menu and give your frameset page a name. | ||
| Now you can begin to place content in your frames | ||
If you want to load existing content into
a frame:
If you want to add new content to a frame, insert text and graphics as you would with any page. When you are ready to save the page, choose File, Save Frame As from the main menu and name the file. |

| To change the name of a frame, simply select that frame from the Frames Panel and type in the new name in the Frame Name text box in the Property Inspector. | ||
