Add a Background Image to a Page
| You can put a patterned background on your page. The background is usually a rather small image file that has been constructed in such a way that when it tiles, or repeats across the page, it looks like a seamless wallpaper pattern. |
| I prefer tiled backgrounds to background color because I think they
provide depth of field that makes reading a monitor easier on the visitor's eyes. However, the background should be unobtrusive; it should have a light and subtle pattern. Choose text and link colors that provide sufficient contrast with the background pattern. Many free graphics sites on the Web provide a wide range of tiled background files. |
| To use HomeSite 1.2. to insert a background image on your page, click on
the QuickStart button on the Quick Tab The Quick Start dialog box will appear. |

![]() |
| In the Background Image text box, type in the path and
filename of your background image. Or click on the open file folder button and navigate to the file. Click on OK. |
To add a tiled background texture to your page after you
have created the page use the BACKGROUND attribute in the opening <BODY> tag.
Reminder: See Start: Tour HomeSite 1.2 for a review of the ways to insert tags and attributes into your document. | |
| EX: <BODY BACKGROUND="images/ltwd.jpg"> | ||
| where images/ltwd.jpg is the path and file name of the background image. | ||
