Enter Text You can use HomeSite as a simple text editor and type HTML tags into your text as you would with Notepad.

However you can also

  • Enter text, highlight it, and select the desired tags. HomeSite will put the tags before and after the highlighted text.
  • You can select tags and insert text between the tags.

You can select some tags from the main menu and dropdown boxes.

You can also select tags from toolbar buttons. You can access many of these tags from the Quick Tab.

Remember that HTML will pay no attention to line spacing or tabbing. To make a new sentence start on a new line or to create a double space between paragraphs, you have to apply a tag.

Create a New Paragraph

Create a new paragraph (i.e., create a double space) with the Paragraph button on the Quick Tab.

Create a Line Break A line break forces the text to a new line, but does not start a new paragraph.

Create a line break with the BR button on the Quick Tab.

You can change the style of your text in several ways.
  • Highlight the text and apply the tag.
  • Choose a tag.  HomeSite will insert the tag pair in your document.   Your cursor will be positioned between the opening and closing tags of the pair.   Type in your text.
Add Bold Text Add the boldface tag with the B button.
