Composting is a way to turn trash into treasure. It is the oldest and easiest resource recovery method.
A compost heap is used to recycle yard waste (leaves, grass clippings, trimmings, and twigs) and selected kitchen waste (vegetable matter, coffee grounds, rinsed egg shells). The result is a rich humus which is such a valuable addition to your soil that gardeners call it "black gold." Composting has two major benefits:
