The World Fantasy Awards are chosen from works nominated by members of the World Fantasy Convention as well as by a panel of judges. They are presented annually at the World Fantasy Convention.

At various times awards have been presented in the following categories:

  • Anthology (multiple authors)
  • Collection (single author)
  • Artist

Special awards include a convention award, a life achievement award, and a professional award.
