The James Tiptree, Jr. Award
The James Tiptree, Jr. award is named in honor of the author Alice Sheldon, who wrote under several pseudonyms but is most noted for her work as James Tiptree, Jr. The award is presented annually for "science fiction or fantasy that explores and expands the roles of women and men for work by both women and men." Both novels and short fiction are eligible. The award is chosen by a panel of judges.
