The five novels that compose the Trilogy relate the comic adventures of Ford Prefect, a researcher for the best-selling Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Recurring characters include the humans Arthur Dent and Tricia McMillan (Trillian) and Zaphod Beeblebrox, once president of the Galazy but now on the run with the Heart of Gold, a stolen spaceship equipped with anInfinite Improbability Guide. Ford Prefect lives by the key advice of the Guide: Don't Panic. These novels are best read as comic adventures in space and time with an emphasis on clever wordplay. |

Preview: Just before Earth is destroyed to make way for a hyperspatialfreeway, Ford Prefect, a researcher for the best-selling travel book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, grabs Arthur Dent and they hitch a ride on the destroying vessel. When they get ejected by the Vogons, they end up on the stolen spaceship Heart of Gold, powerd by an Improbability Drive and captained by Zaphod Beeblebrox, ex-president of the Galaxy. They find the mythical lost planet of Magrathea where the Magrathean planet designer Slartibartfast explains how Earth was about to calculate the Question to the Ultimate Answer when it was destroyed. |
