Academic honesty: giving or receiving help on an exam is not acceptable. Cheating on an exam will result in a zero for the exam.
GRADING
Your grade will be weighted 75% from lecture and 25% from lab.
90% = A, 80% = B, 70% = C, 60% = D, 50% = F
Your lecture grade will be the average of 4 equally weighted exams.
Each exam will contain material covered in lecture. Detailed objectives
will be provided for each exam. Testing will be by short answer, true false,
fill in the blanks, multiple choice, matching, and labeling diagrams. Each
exam will be graded on a percentage basis (number of correct answers divided
by the total number of points).
The exams will be graded and returned in the next class. They will then be recollected and kept in my office.
My exams cover material discussed in lecture. Therefore the most important thing you can do is to attend regularly, take good notes, and know the material in those notes.
NO EXAMS WILL BE DROPPED!
There is no possibility of retaking an exam, or "extra credit".
Make up exams: Exams should be taken on time. If an exam
is missed, contact me to arrange a make up. The exam must be taking before
the next class meeting! Taking an exam late will result in the deduction
of 5 points per day from the exam grade. And there will be no bonus points.
If more than one exam is taken late the penalty points will double.
Please turn off your cell phones during class!
SCHOOL CLOSING - In the event of an OFFICIAL school closing,
what ever was planned for that day will be postponed until the next class.
In case of emergency, please follow the emergency procedure discussed on the first day of class and as posted in the classroom.
If there are any students in this class who have special needs because
of a learning disability or and other kind of disability, please feel free
to discuss your situation with me.
