Objectives:
To familiarize students with the basic visual characteristics of form and space. i.e. color, texture, rhythm, scale, proportions and light.
To help students connect these concepts to architectural experience.
To help students apply these concepts in creating architectural space and form.
To explore the idea that architecture is a cultural expression of time and place.

Week In Class Homework
1. Introduction to Class and Party Place-Start study model build 2 study models 6-7hours each
2. Review Party Place Start 3rd study model finish 3rd study model 6 hours
Draw interior perspective 4hours
Draw floor plans and section 4 hours
3. Review Party Place continue working on drawings build final party place model 12-15 hours
Final drawings
4. Final Review Party Place- Intro Experiencing Architecture Experiencing Architecture Project 12-15hrs
5. Experiencing Architecture Workshop- Intro. Design Space build 2 study models 6-7hours each
6. Review Design Space- Draw interior perspectives build 3rd study model 6-7hours
Draw interior perspective 4hours
Draw section and floor plans 4 hrs
7. Review Design Space-Finalize drawings Build final model Design Space 12-15hrs
8. Hand in Presentation Portfolios for Party Place and Design Space- Final Reviews-Power Point or equal
Evaluation and Attendance:
<>Student performance on each of the three projects will determine 1/3 of the semester grade. Students are expected to attend all classes.
