Text: Fundamentals of Building Construction by Edward Allen

 

Objective: To familiarize students with the materials and methods commonly used in the construction of buildings.

This course is taught using readings, lectures, field interviews, field observations, documentation and presentation of field reports, and learning from the field reports presented by other students.  There will be a final examination and two assigned field reports.

Evaluation: Final Exam = 80% and each Field Reports = 10% of student grades.

Attendance: More than four absences will result in reduced grade.

All policies related to student conduct outlined in the NVCC Student Handbook will be adhered to.

Note: Last day to withdraw with W grade is Nov.1.
