Quick Start Guide
 
 

Northern Virginia Community College was awarded the "Breaking Down Barriers to Assistive Technology" Grant in the Fall of 2002 from Premier Assistive Technology. The grant entitles students, faculty, and staff at NVCC to have unlimited access for the following sofware:

Off Limits: The Talking Web Browser
Text To Audio: Turn Documents into Audio Files
Text Cloner Pro: Scan Text into your Computer with a Single Key
Scan and View: Seeing It Clearly by Enlarging It
Universal Reader: Reads Anything You Select and Repeats Anything You Type
Scan and Read Lite: Makes your Computer Read to You
Scan and Read Pro: Makes your Computer Read to You
Talking Word Processor: A Word Processor that Talks Back to You
Complete Reading System: An Easy to Use Reading Package with Talking Menus

Each of these software programs is designed to provide better access to today's technology for students, faculty, and/or staff with special needs. To download any of these programs, please contact your campus ITM. He or she can assist you to be sure there is enough space on the computer to house the program. Most of these programs require large amounts of memory to run.

Each program has a tutorial within it to help you learn how to use the program. Once the program is downloaded, you can access the tutorial.

The Accessibility Suite has a Quickstart Guide available for you to learn more details about each of the programs, including the system requirements for each program.
