SUMMER WEB-AUTHORING INSTITUTE
A Joint Project of the Technical Applications Center and the Dogwood Project

Announcement of the institute
The Technical Applications Center (TAC) will hold a web authoring institute at TAC from 9 AM to 4 PM on 17-18 June 1999. The institute is aimed at faculty and staff who already have some web experience using either HTML, Microsoft Frontpage or Netscape Composer and who wish to develop content-oriented resources for the web, such as those on the Dogwood site (www.nvcc.edu/grants/pilotproject/index.html). For more details and registration, please contact Cathy Simpson (csimpson@nvcc.edu or 323-3515) at TAC. Diane Thompson (dthompson@nvcc.edu) is also available to answer questions. Seats are limited to the first fifteen applicants (There will be a stipend of $40.00 for participation)

Purpose of the institute
This institute is the result of the year-long discussions that have led to the creation of the Dogwood Project. The institute, as noted in the announcement, will involve more faculty in the project and yield more resource sites for the Dogwood site. The institute will also continue the mentoring and dialogue begun by the original participants in the NEH-funded focus project of last spring.
