Background
All VCCS colleges are to participate in the implementation of the PeopleSoft Finance System and HR Systems over the next two years. These two new systems will replace FRS and our current HR system. They will be the current versions of the PeopleSoft software, so there should not have to be an upgrade again for 4-5 years.
Our goal is to maintain and enhance the provision of information, services and transactional capabilities to our faculty, staff and students. Our plans for the implementation of these two systems will be guided by a Steering Committee composed of: administrative leadership from each of the major stakeholder groups and the NOVAConnect Support Services (NCSS) management team (ex officio). Members of the Steering Committee will organize workgroups from their functional areas to carry out the multiple tasks involved with familiarization, testing, and problem-solving; training; and follow-through during the implementation process. (see below)
Staff from NOVAConnect Support Services will be available to provide technical assistance as needed, recognizing they must also continue to provide support for the current Student Information System and the many students, faculty. and staff comprising its user base. Consequently, the workgroups are responsible for completing all tasks associated with the project for their functional areas.
The Steering Committee is responsible to the President.
