Ben Pittman, Budget Director
Directs the Budget Office and serves as the chief financial planning officer of the College. The Budget Officer advises the College’s top management in budget matters and is the key liaison to VCCS Financial Services.

Lynne Morton, Administrative Assistant
Provides administrative assistance to the Budget Director which includes record keeping, filing, financial data input and typing. Assists the Budget Operations and the grants/contracts sections of the Budget Office with clerical related duties, answers telephone calls, distributes budget office mail and monthly financial reports.

Kay Martin, Administrative Assistant
Provides assistance to the Budget Director’s administrative assistant which includes record keeping, filing, financial data input and typing. Assists the grants/contracts sections of the Budget Office with clerical related duties, answers telephone calls, distributes budget office mail and monthly financial reports.

Isaac Appiagyei, Senior Budget Analyst, Grants/Contracts
Monitors sponsored programs, financial activity and internal controls to ensure accuracy of transactions posting, and internal/external financial reports; performs analyses of variances and discrepancies between program budget and actual expenditures; monitors grants/contracts program cash balance; coordinates preparation and submittal of monthly/quarterly financial reports to program sponsors and other entities; reconciles annual grants/contracts program financial ledger; coordinates program closeout and final financial report preparation on sponsored programs; and assists Budget Director with supervision of full-time and part-time Budget Office staff.

Pacita Jaye, Senior Budget Analyst, Budget Operations
Develops operating budgets and distribution of financial resources for assigned campuses and central divisions. Performs analyses of variances and discrepancies between budget and actual expenditures; researches financial data within PeopleSoft AIS accounting system and resolve questionable financial entries; supervises part-time Budget Office support staff and assists Budget Director with supervision of full-time staff; modernizes and improves budgetary/expenditure reports; ensure accurate and timely reimbursement of college funds expended for reimbursable salaries and wages; analyzes and interprets revenue and expense reports; and prepares cost studies and special reports to facilitate decision making.

Fausat Alaka, Accountant
Works on federal, state and private grants, special contracts and entrepreneurial program accounting. Monitors sponsored programs, financial activity and internal controls to ensure accuracy of internal and external financial reporting for grants and contracts; assists sponsored program directors and coordinators with interpretation and monitoring program restrictions and compliance requirements; analyzes and interprets revenue and expense; and assists Budget Director with preparation and analysis of operating budgets, cost studies and special reports.

Malgorzata Garcia, Budget Analyst
Assists in the development of operating budgets and the distribution of financial resources. Performs analyses of variances and discrepancy between budget and actual expenditures; researches financial data within the accounting system and resolves questionable financial entries; ensures accurate and timely reimbursement of state M&O funds expended for reimbursable salaries and wages; analyzes and interprets revenue and expense reports, assists Budget Director with preparation and analysis of budgets, cost studies and special reports.

Samson Araya, Special Project Accountant
Responsible for entrepreneurial and special program accounting, preparation of budgetary reports for departments and division heads, faculty release time tracking and reporting, salary and wage reimbursements, monitoring sponsored programs, financial activity and internal controls to ensure accuracy of transactions posting, and internal and external financial reports. Continuous modernization and improvement of budgetary and expenditure reports, ensures accurate and timely reimbursement of state M&O funds expended for reimbursable salaries and wages; updates E&G PeopleSoft AIS ledger account descriptions and reporting codes, analyzes and interprets revenue and expense reports; and responsible for preparation and analysis of cost studies and special reports.
