Dual Generational Pathways provides services to both NOVA students and their children. Most of the activities are either held in the NOVA Student and Family Resource Center or during Adult Career Pathways events. DGP strives to create a family-friendly environment, exposing children to their parents’ college experience and making services more accessible to parenting students. The goal is twofold; support student-parents while they pursue their NOVA credential and guide the next generation down the pathway to college.
Parenting Student Club
This group meets once a month in the Student and Family Resource Center and consists of NOVA students who are parenting. The club allows students to connect, share experiences, and provide peer-to-peer support. During the meetings various resources are shared specific to supporting student-parents while they pursue a credential. While students meet, their children engage in college and career awareness activities. Learn how to get involved.
Adult Career Pathway Events
The ACP program holds several social events for their students throughout the year, creating a sense of community and encouraging full family participation. During the events, career-centered and age-appropriate activities are held for the children that connect back to a college education.
Resource Video topics include saving for your child’s education, academic tips for K-12, and balancing parenting and college.
