| The Perseus link http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/ demonstrates two important issues: the orderly collection of a huge amount of texts AND the use of hypertext to give in-depth information about elements of the text, like super footnotes.
From the Perseus home page, I went to Classics (top of left menu), and then to Texts (top option in main box). I then scrolled down the list of texts to select Homer’s Iliad in English, which includes many hypertext references. Then I went to the Homer section of my TROY site http://novaonline.nvcc.edu/Eli/Troy/new/troyweb/homer.html This page includes links to outside sites, including texts and metasites such as Perseus. Finally, I selected Iliad Activities (middle left box) from the Homer site and looked down the list of Activities to some that themselves used links to go to outside sites such as Bulfinch for students to use as they did their assignments. |
