ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
The Northern Virginia Community College, Community Education English as a Second Language Program is dedicated to providing high quality instruction using current technology, sound methodology, and innovative techniques. Students are prepared to succeed in the academic community and in life through instruction in the English language and the introduction of, and instruction in learning and learner strategies. The program also introduces students to American culture through field trips, guest speakers, and special projects. Our program includes basic to advanced ESL classes that assist students in meeting clearly defined academic objectives. We have several specialty classes that give students focused practice in the specific areas of pronunciation, TOEFL preparation, and word processing.
English as a Second Language (ESL) is taught at all campuses. The instructors in our program are qualified ESL professionals, and are directly responsible for the success of this program. Here is a list of non-credit ESL courses available at each campus
