ACCOMMODATIONS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES: The Office of Continuing Education is part of NVCC's commitment to provide an accessible education and a supportive learning environment for all students. In order to help us meet this goal, all students with disabilities who require special accommodation must contact Disabled Student Services at each campus in order to receive an Accommodations Packet. This packet should be returned at least four weeks in advance of the class start date. All information will be kept confidential. Disabled Student Services numbers:

SENIOR CITIZENS' REGISTRATION: Residents of Virginia who are 60 years of age or older are welcome to participate tuition-free in most non-credit courses on a space-available basis as determined by the College. Such students are limited to three courses per semester including any credit course(s) that they may be auditing. Students should present proof of age and fill out a Senior Citizen Certification of Eligibility for Free Tuition form, which may be obtained from the Office of Continuing Education. Senior Citizens should submit the necessary form and call one working day before the class meets to determine if space is available. In courses with limited space and large demand, the order in which telephone calls are received on that day determines admission to the course. To guarantee a place in a class, payment with registration is required.

What is a CEU?

Continuing Education Units are a nationally recognized standard unit of measurement that has been adopted for post-secondary courses not carrying academic credit. One CEU is awarded for every ten classroom hours, provided the participant successfully completes the requirements. Permanent CEU records will be maintained by NVCC. CEUs are increasingly accepted as evidence of educational accomplishment and for professional certification.
