SACS Accreditation
Northern Virginia Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award associate degrees, and certificates in selected occupational areas. Every ten years, the College engages in a self-study process in preparation for the SACS visit. NVCC completes a comprehensive institutional evaluation consistent with the purposes and spirit of the Commission on Colleges of SACS.
NVCC's previous self-study was in 1990-92. The College has completed the current Self Study Report for the April of 2002 visit. Also completed is the NVCC first and second follow-up report in response to the SACS Reaffirmation Committee.
