The class of 1992 had 2,310 graduates, the class of 1993 had 2,492 graduates. Over the
two years, the split between transfer and occupational-technical graduates was almost
even with slightly more graduates receiving transfer awards.
Both graduating classes had more females than males. This also applies for each RACE separately. Overall, figures for 1992 were 57 percent female and 43 percent male, and those for 1993 were 55 percent female 345 percent male. Minorities accounted for 25 percent of 1992 graduates and 26 percent of 1993 graduates. Annandale and Alexandria accounted for 71 percent of graduates in 1992 and 69 percent in 1993. Eighty-four percent of 1992 graduates were US citizens and 16 percent noncitizens. Eighty-five percent of 1993 graduates were U.S. citizens and 15 percent non-citizens. In both years more than 90 percent of transfer and occupational-technical respondents reported that they had achieved their primary goal while attending NVCC. |
In 1992 and 1993, the majority of respondents reported working either full-time or
part-time. While roughly three-quarters of the transfer graduates reported working full-
or part-time, almost 90 percent of occupationaltechnical graduates worked either full- or
part-time. As would be expected, the percentage of occupational-technical respondents
working in a field either "directly" or "closely" related to their major was more than
double that of transfer respondents.
In both 1992 and 1993 approximately three-quarters of the transfer respondents reported they were enrolled in school either full-time or part-time. Occupational-technical respondents' enrollment was 39 percent in 1992 and 1993. A majority of them reported that they were enrolled in the same or a field related to the one they pursued while at NVCC. For the most part, respondents expressed satisfaction with their NVCC experience. Almost all college services, quality of instruction, and overall preparation received high ratings. This is a good indication that the college has maintained high quality standards over the years. |
