Graduate Survey Report for 1992 & 1993

INTRODUCTION

Northern Virginia Community College has conducted annual surveys of its graduates since 1972. The graduate survey asks questions concerning jobs, career, salaries, further education at other institutions, and the impact NVCC has had upon the employment and continuing education of the graduates, In addition, the survey provides an opportunity for the graduates to assess instruction, faculty, services, and facilities of the College. The information is used to improve academic programs and services provided by the college.

The present study compiles information on graduates of the 1991-92 and 1992-93 academic years. The report is divided into eight sections. A discussion of graduates, respondents, and response rates is presented in Section II. Goals and goal attainment of the graduating classes are discussed in Section III. Employment of graduates is presented in Section IV. In Section V the educational status of the graduates after leaving NVCC is presented and Section VI summarizes the survey respondents' evaluation of their general preparation, NVCC faculty, and instruction. Section VII presents data on student views of college services and facilities and Section VIII is a general summary of the survey results.
