Second Call for Submission
Woman in Chair - Nancy SessionsThe Board of The Northern Virginia Review invites your contributions of short fiction, essays, poetry, and photography/artwork for Issue 23.

The deadline for submissions is September 18, 2008. For more information please contact Steve Drasner at sdrasner@nvcc.edu.

Guidelines for Submissions

  • You must be NVCC faculty/staff, alumni, or a resident of the Northern Virginia and greater Washington metropolitan area
  • Works for submission include essays—both personal and academic, short fiction, poetry, and photography/artwork.
  • Works must be submitted by September 18, 2008, for Issue 23.
  • For each yearly issue, the number of submissions from one person is limited to: two essays, two works of fiction, three pieces of artwork, and four poems. The total number of submissions from one person is limited to five items in any mix of the above categories.
  • Print submissions should be made electronically to Steve Drasner at sdrasner@nvcc.edu in Word format, double-spaced. Please include a cover page with your name and contact information and a 2-4 sentence biographical statement. Do not place your name on the pages of the work you are submitting.
  • Photography and artwork should be submitted electronically to Art Editor Randy Michener at rmichener@nvcc.edu as RGB graphics files of 300dpi resolution, sized to 5 X 7 inches or as close as photo proportions will allow.
  • Finally, complete and submit the release form (NV-105-062) giving TNVR first publication rights only. Click on this link to obtain the form: http://www.nvcc.edu/forms/pdf/105-062.pdf . After downloading it, print the form, complete all information requested, sign, and fax to Dorothy Seyler at 703.323.3443 or mail to:
