NVCC Educational Foundation Support for Victims of Hurricane Katrina

Message from President Robert Templin:

Dear NVCC Colleagues:

I know you have heard much of what the College is doing to meet the educational needs of the people who have suffered from the ravages of Hurricane Katrina. The NVCC Educational Foundation’s Board of Directors voted at its quarterly meeting on September 9th to donate half of the proceeds from its annual dinner to meet the educational needs of those victims. In addition, the Foundation has allocated up to $30,000 to assist with tuition and books for those victims attending NVCC this fall. The Foundation has already awarded grants to three students this week.

Faculty and staff who purchase tickets can purchase individual tickets for $135 per person or $1350 for a table of ten (a $40 savings off the regular price). This is an opportunity for you to contribute to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort while enjoying a delicious meal and hearing our keynote speaker, Frank Deford, considered by many to be America’s greatest sportswriter.

I hope you will join the many colleagues who have already purchased tickets and a group from the Medical Education Campus that just signed up for a table of ten.

Even if you cannot purchase a ticket, please consider making a donation to the Foundation in support of this worthy cause. Thank you for your consideration.

Please visit www.nvcc.edu/foundation for additional information.

Bob
