For consideration, interested individuals must apply to and via the methods described below.   This national executive search is being conducted confidentially and with the assistance of a national executive recruiting firm.  This position is the first of our national Executive positions announced and open for search. Other positions will be announced soon.

Each of our National Executive search positions will report directly to the President, serving as senior members of the Administrative Council. The "standard" application procedures are not applicable to this position.  Please follow the application methods described below.

The Campus

The Medical Education Campus (MEC) www.nvcc.edu/medical  is a technologically sophisticated specialized campus dedicated to the education and preparation of Nursing and Allied Health professionals with a strong commitment to workforce development and continuing education. Associate Degrees are offered in Nursing (RN), Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT-ASCP), Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), Radiography-Diagnostic Imaging (RT-R), Respiratory Therapy (CRT) and (RRT), Health Information Technology (RHIT), Dental Hygiene (RDH), and Emergency Medical Services (EMT-P).  Diagnostic Medical Sonography  is expected to begin in the Fall 2008. Credit Certificate Programs are offered in: Radiation Oncology, Clinical Coding, Medical Transcription, Phlebotomy, and Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B). Advanced Certificate Programs (RT-R required) are offered in: Breast Imaging, Computer Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Numerous pre-employment and healthcare career enhancement programs are offered by the MEC’s Workforce and Continuing Education Division. Distinctive aspects of the MEC include: Academic Partnerships with Universities, State-of the-Art facility design and medical equipment, a 32 Chair Dental Clinic, Digital radiography, Distance education classrooms, a Cadaver laboratory, a Human Patient Simulators laboratory, Community-Based Network Clinics, Technologically sophisticated classrooms, laboratories, Learning Resource Center and student services. Most significantly is that the MEC has a cadre of exceptional and dedicated faculty and staff. 

The Position:

The MEC Provost reports directly to the College President and is a member of the College’s Administrative Council. The MEC Provost provides the executive and academic leadership for the MEC with the goal of developing the nation’s premier community college training and educational programs in nursing and allied health. The College specifically has a vision of developing a national leadership role in Health Information Management. This position has an inherent and essential community leadership responsibility of working with the regions health care industry and multiple stakeholders to identify and respond to the critical healthcare workforce shortage in Northern Virginia. The MEC Provost responsibilities, in addition to those of academic leadership, include the supervision and/or coordination of budgeting; personnel management and recruitment of faculty, staff and adjuncts; property management; safety and emergency planning for the campus; as well as program development and specialized accreditation.
