An emergency can occur at any time, suddenly and without warning. Proper planning is essential to minimize the impact of any emergency on college operations and facilities. The Office of Emergency Planning was created to provide such planning by establishing policies, procedures, and responsibilities that are necessary to effectively respond to an emergency.

The Office of Emergency Planning staff provides guidance, and direction in all areas of emergency preparedness, training, and response. This office also serves as a link to the federal, state and local emergency management, and to public safety agencies.

The office assists faculty/staff with developing policies and procedures to implement during an emergency. The staff also works with other college officials, managers, and employees to evaluate hazards while coordinating plans for emergency response and recovery.
