1. Call to Order: Charlie Errico called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m.
2. Review and Approval of the Minutes: Approval postponed.
3. Chair’s Report:
A. President’s Sabbatical - Charlie gave a brief overview of the President’s Sabbatical program and said that there were 2 – 3 message in the Intercom about the program. Committee meetings will be set up for December 9th and 12th to select the final recipients.
B. Enhanced Retirement Program – Charlie shared that Myrtho Blanchard has set up a meeting for some Committee members to meet with the Segal Group to discuss writing a proposal establishing an Enhanced Retirement Program for state employees. The meeting will be Friday, October 26.
C. Physical Education Teaching Workload - Charlie reviewed the presentation Nancy Crippin presented at the last meeting. Patricia discussed that the Med Ed classes were experiencing similar situations with their labs. Charlie recommended possibly having a sub-committee to review the problem and present what they find to the Committee.
D. Sick
Leave For Non-Marital Partners - Charlie gave a brief summary of a concern
some employees have expressed that the Sick Leave Benefits does not allow for
an employee to take covered time off for a non-marital partner. Charlie suggested further discussion on how
the Committee could possibly present a proposal to change this policy.
