President’s Sabbatical Deadline
The President’s Sabbatical Award allows three faculty members, one of whom can be on a 12-month contract, to receive a semester of leave with full pay. Proposals will be awarded based on their excellence and a candidate’s potential to contribute to the long-term mission of the College. Those wishing to apply for the award for the 2009-2010 academic year will need to submit their proposal by December 1, 2008.
NOVA Adjunct Faculty Grant Opportunity
The Human Resources Professional Development Committee announces an opportunity for adjunct faculty to receive funding for research and teaching projects. Check this PDF for more information. The deadline is January 14, 2009.Technology in Education Awards (T.I.E.) nominations are due by December 15, 2008. Note the new and improved prizes for our winners!
Recognize a colleague of yourself at our Recognition of Excellence. Submissions are due by January 30, 2009.
Flu Shot Program offered again to state health plan members. Free flu shots once again will be available from now until the end of flu season at specific participating COVA Care and COVA HDHP plan chain and independent retail pharmacies. In addition, individual agencies may make arrangements to have a local pharmacy that participates with COVA Care come onsite to provide flu shots at no cost. Pharmacy Program: Any plan member, including employees, non-Medicare eligible retiree group members, covered spouses and dependents, may present a plan ID card to receive a flu shot at no cost. A list of pharmacies, flyers and a Q&A for each plan is available on the Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) Web site. Each pharmacy location sets up its own clinics and procedures, which may differ within the pharmacy chain. Flu Shots Under the Medical Benefit: All COVA Care and COVA HDHP members may receive flu shots at no cost in their doctor’s office covered under the medical routine wellness benefit. Kaiser Permanente HMO plan members have access to free flu shots from their physician or at participating medical centers. Be sure to send your application to Deborah Mottsman Rosen in our grants office before submitting your proposal to the VCCS. Submit your grant to the Grants Office one week in advance to allow for approvals and feedback to improve your successful grant application.
