Getting Started with eNOVA

When using eNOVA, you, your classmates, and instructor will meet at the same time, but at different computer locations (e.g. your home or office). Your instructor will notify you with the date and time of each session. Check you course syllabus or course website for more information. At least one day prior to your first session, follow the steps below to set up your equipment and become familiar with eNOVA. To help you with the process, we suggest that you first print a copy of the directions.

    1. Check your Technical Requirements.
    2. Identify and Install Needed Accessories.
    3. Find your Username and Password.
    4. Access the eNOVA Login Page.
    5. Open the My Schedule Page.
    6. Familiarize yourself with the following:

1. Check your Technical Requirements
To determine whether you have the necessary computer hardware and software, here is a brief summary of technical requirements.

Internet Voice (VoIP) Requirements
Voice of Internet Protocol (VoIP) audio is not required for events that use telephone for audio. Some events may not require you to have a microphone. Check with your event organizer for specific requirements.

2. Identify and Install Needed Accessories
You will use a microphone and speakers or computer headset with microphone to communicate during your session. Instructions to install a microphone can be found at http://novaonline.nvcc.edu/enova/microtutorial.htm

3. Identify and Install Needed Accessories
Your login is your VCCS email address minus the “@email.vccs.edu”.

You will be asked to change your password. Your Blackboard password is recommended as a substitute.

4. Access the eNOVA Login Page
Before beginning, close all applications that are open and running on your computer, including your email and any other browser sites. (Leaving applications open can cause the eNOVA software to lock up.)

5. Open the My Schedule Page
