COURSE DESCRIPTION
Enables students to work in various activities of play production. Students participate in performance, set design, stage carpentry, sound, costuming, lighting, stage management, props, promotion, or stage crew. May be repeated for credit. Variable hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
Gives students a background in both the acting and technical aspects of theatre, and the opportunity to apply what they learn in an actual college production.
ENTRY LEVEL COMPETENCIES
Fluency in Standard American English. Recommend proficiency in reading and writing at English 111 level.
COURSE OBJECTIVES/EDUCATIONAL OUTCOME
Provides students with a general background in both acting and technical phases of theatre, and allows students to specialize in: acting, set design, lighting, set construction, costumes, make-up or theatre production.
