COURSE DESCRIPTION
Develops personal resources and explores performance skills through the study of techniques and styles of acting through individual and group performance. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 2 hours. Total 5 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
Gives students both a physical and mental understanding of the various approaches to acting.
ENTRY LEVEL COMPETENCIES
Fluency in Standard American English. Recommend proficiency in reading and writing at English111 level.
COURSE OBJECTIVES/EDUCATIONAL OUTCOME
Enables students to analyze a script, its structure, style and rhythm; to use the voice effectively including breathing, production of vocal tone, resonance, articulation and pronunciation; to prepare and present material to an audience; and to accept and give critical evaluations of class projects.
