JPN 201 - INTERMEDIATE
JAPANESE I (4 CR.)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Continues development of skills of understanding, speaking, reading, and writing of Japanese. Classes conducted in Japanese. Lecture 4 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The purpose of Intermediate Japanese is to enable the student to become more proficient in speaking and understanding Japanese in a greater variety of situations. The student will learn the more complex structures of the Japanese language. The student will also learn to read and write without recourse to translations.
ENTRY LEVEL COMPETENCY
The prerequisite for this course is JPN 102 - "Beginning Japanese II" or equivalent.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to maintain and perfect oral competence, develop reading and writing skills, increase knowledge of Japanese structures and vocabulary.
