INTERMEDIATE ANCIENT GREEK I-II (3 CR.) (3 CR.)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Introduces the reading of classical and Koine Greek with a review of Greek grammar, forms, and syntax. Lecture 3 hours per week.
GENERAL COURSE PURPOSE
The purpose of Intermediate Ancient Greek study is to enable the student to read the classical literature of antiquity.
ENTRY LEVEL COMPETENCY
Prerequisites are GRE 101-2 - "Introduction to Ancient Greek I-II" or successful completion of its equivalent in high school, or division permission.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The objective is to lead the student away from elementary structural drills and towards more complex skills in reading and some writing.
MAJOR TOPICS TO BE COVERED
Readings of longer selections from the literature of Homer, Sophocles, and the New Testament.
